Hi. I was wondering how I can take a DVD's VIDEO_TS folder and convert it to an mp4/avi/mpeg2 that contains the 5.1 surround sound. I used Handbrake and I was able to convert it to a mp4 for my iPhone. However, when I play that same file on my PS3, it does not have the 5.1 surround sound that it normally would. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Unfortunately most of the encoders that create MP4 files don't yet allow for AC3 audio in an MP4 container. If I were doing this, I would use Xvid4PSP, and encode the video with H264, keep the AC3, and output an m2ts file for the PS3.
