Editing Embedded Sub

Hey Everyone,
I use Nero Recode to convert my DVDs to mp4 with subs. The video and the subs comes out sync'd with no problem except for the subs being not clear when its activated. I am have haali media splitter to enable the subs. The subs comes out in various colors (depending on the movie) and its not clear. I tried changing some sub preferences in ffdshow but doesnt work. Is there any program where I can edit the font/color/sharpness of the subs? Remember the subs are alread encoded into the mp4 so I would probably need a program to extract -> edit -> resync the subs to the movie. Thanks all...

The subs are images as I said in my other post. If you want to edit those you must convert them to text.
