Can someone please tell me what to do, if I want convert BR to MPEG-2. I was thinking that I could take menu and subtitles from Retail DVD, and add encoded MPEG-2 video file (because of higher bitrate). I know, that is possible convert .mkv file with Cinema Craft Encoder, but problem is, that I cant open .mkv file in CCE.

    Any solutions?
    Thank you for your answers.

If you open an MKV file with AviSynth, you can encode it with the free HCEnc. Honestly, HCEnc is probably as good as CCE. I have an old version of CCE and I rarely use it now because HCEnc is so good.

I'm not sure what you expect to gain from this. It would be a lot less time consuming to just rip a DVD and copy that instead of ripping from BluRay and encoding that down to DVD. Good luck with that "copy menu" idea if you insist on using BluRay. That's not going to be easy to do.

My post should not be taken as encouraging any one to break any laws if their country does not permit copying DVDs/BluRays they don't own.
