There used to be an application that gave a detailed analysis of what codecs were used in a given container file. I thought it was called gstring, and was on this site. Anyone know what tool I'm talking about?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

You are probably thinking of Gspot. There is also MediaInfo that can give you information about a video file. Other codec/video identifier programs: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/codec-video-identifiers
