Master IDE DVD burner broke and I bought a SATA replacement. The Slave CDRW burner is still hooked up as slave. Is this ok?
My HDD is IDE.

Aren't there any instructions with your drive(s)?
Regardless, they're on different channels (IDE vs. SATA), so just plug it in and it should work
it is working, but i keep thinking about the CDRW being slave and maybe that is wrong.
It is typically preferable to have lone devices configured as Master. But if it is working, there is no need to change anything.
