Hi, I have just got an HD camcorder (panasonic HDC-SD9) and am trying to burn the AVCHD files to a standard dvd for playback in my Bluray player (Sony s350).

Nothing I try seems to work, both camcorder and bd player have the AVCHD logo so you think it would be pretty straight forward!!
I am using Imgburn and found a site that shows 'step by step' how to do this but when I try to play the disc it says 'cannot read disc'
I am confused over whether I need to include a 'CERTIFICATE' folder or not? some site say I do and some say I do not. If I do, where is this folder found??

It seems pointless to have an HD camcorder if I cant burn HD footage, When I try to play through the computer (VLC or KMPlayer) the footage is not in HD!

    ARRRRRRR!!!!!

    Please help......

    Thanks

multiavchd will author the structure for you without re-encoding

it can even do simple menus

you need to burn with udf 2.5 profile

I missed that part... maybe you are recording in SD mode?

Open the .mts / m2ts in mediainfo, what does it say? (view=>text)

    Works perfectly, thanks!!

I think the reason that vlc and kmplayer do not play avchd files well is my video/graphics card is crap. I've heard that they should play files in 1080 p/i but the footage is jumpy and only plays at around 8 fps, also it's not as clear as when played through the camcorder.
I'm just glad that i can now store my videos in HD format for future viewing!

    Thanks again!
