    I notice an .flv file I uploaded to Youtube is playing in stereo by default, no hacks utilitzed, no &fmt=18. It just plays in stereo. As of this posting it's playing in stereo when viewed in both Firefox and IE.

    Is this the current state of things on YouTube?

    Yes. Sometimes by default is played format 34 (FLV with AVC video and AAC stereo audio).
    But since I do not know what exactly it is dependent (when it's default)...
