RCA DRC286 Region Hack Help

I tried hacking it using same procedure as with e.g. DRC247 - Using remote: open tray/press CLEAR/1/3/6/9/0, power off>on. Did not work , but using SETUP/1/3/7/9 will show firmaware info (that looks very much the same)as other RCA player(s)(DRC247). There's got be the way to hack it ! Anybody, help. (Player also look identical to DRC285 ).

Manufacturers constantly break hacks that used to work in the past when they change hardware during production. That may be what has happened to you.

Note that Hollywood seems to have gotten to almost all of the manufacturers and made them stop producing DVD players that can easily be put into multi-region mode. For example, Samsung appears to not make a single model anywhere in the world at this time that can be made region free.
