    Newbie to web video conversion
    I converted a 900 mb vob file into a 70 mg swf file. (640 kbps, 15fps, MP3 using AVS Video Converter 6.2

After uploading to external host, two main issues:
1- download time for swf is unacceptable to most users
2- while audio track was fine when swf played from local, audio file was staggered and slow when played from web.

Should I be converting to flv and use a video hosting service that already has flash players, and if so does anyone have any recommendations, or are there other options I should be using?

    Thanks in advance
    Brett

  2. h264 mp4 is a bit better these days. or there are encoders that will encode fast start .flv you can play either on your own host if it's fast enough. if the videos are pausing then either the bitrate of the video is too high or you don't have enough upload bandwidth. use the free for non-commercial uses JW Media Player on your site.
