I want to buy this to copy commercial DVD's in my own library to have dual copies in case of scratching. I want to be able to burn music cd's and dvd movies. Is this a good choice or will I have a bunch of software and media problems. I have read in other posts on other sites that some have problems with it not reading media or blank disks, but they mentioned having problems due to playing PC games. I dont play PC games. Does anyone have previous usage of the 740 or know of a better choice? Thanks

    Read the reviews here:

Also note the media tests. They will tell you what's the best media to use for each burner.

HP 740 is such a old model from 2005....you're better off buying a more current model like a PIONEER 116.
