My Device Manager lists my drive as a Philips DVD+-RW SDVD8441. I am trying to determine if it is the same as the drive listed here. It is the best match I can seem to find.

If you have ImgBurn (Highly recommended) you can check the capabilities of a drive in 'Tools>Capabilities'. If you plan on trying a DL burn, I would also recommend trying only Verbatim DL + discs.

    And welcome to our forums.

I was looking at the displayed info from IMG under the device tab in Build mode...I should have just kept nosing around some more. After such a long time of flawless operation, I forget 95% of what it has to offer.

Looks like it does support DVD+R DL writing. Must be the same drive.

    Many Thanks.

This drive is a bad choice.

Don't expect anything good especially when burning DL.
