    Hi all,

I have had this dvd player for a while now but never really made divx disks because I stream most of time. I converted a video into Xvid with ac3 5.1 passthrough using mkvtools (mac). I burnt it using toast and the divx option and the player does load the index and I see the title of the movie but I hit play it just shows and x and goes back to the disk contents. I can post the mediainfo if you like, im not sure what causing it not to play. I am using a Sony DVD+R 8x

  3. Divx/Xvid in MKV? I don't know of any Divx/DVD player that supports MKV.

No, it looks as if the OP converted a video (MKV?) to AVI using mkvtools. At least, that's how I viewed the post.

biggyk: Yes, do post the information on the video. Set-top DVD players that can play DivX/Xvid are quite a bit more picky about what they can play, as opposed to a computer. For starters, does the video definitely have a DivX/Xvid video stream, under at least 720x576, and an MP3 audio stream?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

  5. I didn't know mkvtools could convert to AVI.
