acer monitor will not let me adjust screen position

im running an acer al2216w through a nvidia geforce 8800gt.for some reason the monitor will not let me manually adjust the clock/focus or the screen position.it shows up under the ocd but the boxes are blanked out and will not let me select them.i also cannot adjust screen position on the acer with the nvidia control panel.the focus thing would be nice to play with but adjusting screen position is most important as i have one of those "little white lines" at the bottom of the screen.i have looked but found nothing specifically addressing the issue.any tips or advice,other than "you should not downgrade your video cards display" is appreciated.im sure one or the other is canceling out the other.hope i put this post in the right section.thanks

i just found out you can only make that adjustment in "analog"mode
