blank pause in slide show and when converting to wmv file

I am using photoshop elements 4 which i had no trouble on my old computer but have recently updated and now when I look at a preview of my slide show which will be eventually converted into complete dvd show there are pauses between the slide movement now and then. when replay preview it can happen in a different spot. As i am not computer wise don't know if the programme is the trouble or the computer has any one had this problem and could some one give me advise on knowing how to look into the computer for what could cause this. I am still working on old computer and the programme works there, not using vista

Have you tried creating the DVD and testing the final output? It may only be a display issue and not affect the final output.
