Hi everyone,
I have been using my philips 5982 for awhile, and have been happy with it. I use it to watch alot of avi from a powered external HD. I was wondering if there are any DVD players out there that connects via HDMI, upconverts, that will supply enough power to be able to read from non-external powered HD?
Also, whenever there is water etc on my screen, the 5982 jerks, i realize this is an older model, so if anyone have any good cheap recommendation, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Oh, also, being able to play subtitle is very important!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

The Western Digital media player discussed here meets your needs:

Do note that this is a USB only player. Everything you play must be on a USB device. It meets your needs for HDMI, upconversion and non-powered external USB though. It can play DVDs on USB devices and ISOs, but I'm not impressed with that functionality too much. It's great for AVI though.
