    I am new to this and am experimenting with different file formats. Is there any Mac software that will convert 5 .avi files (containing MKV) to dvd format? Any help would be appreciated.

    MKV and AVI are both container formats, not formats in themselves. Download MediaInfo Mac and determine which codecs have been used for the audio and video streams.
