    Hi guys
I'm looking for a free software that allows me to build a video from photos, with these features (if possible)

    - add mp3 sound
    - drag & drop photos into timeline
    - set a delay for each photo
    - effects for transitions

Sounds like ConvertXtoDVD has every feature, but does any1 know about a freeware solution?

    Thanks a lot in advance,

Photo Story 3 is actually pretty good for free from Microsoft.

    Hi guys
So far I've tried these tools

    - DVD_Slideshow_GUI

    Left this option because:
Didn't accept many of the mp3 I was adding
Didn't order the slides (photos) by name. This means that I should add manually the 235 photos or to reorder. Tons of loss time!!

    - Slideshow 6 for youtube

All great, timeline, photos added by name, background music accepted almost any format, and so on
    Left this option because:
it couldn't upload the result to youtube (connection was ok, etc. etc.)
    too much time for exporting
not an option to export to video file

I think I'll go now with ConvertXtoDVD and Photo Story 3... will tell ya how it goes
I'm still open to some suggestions

  6. On DVD slideshow GUI:

Multiple audiofiles can be imported as playlist in m3u file format. (WinAmp, MPC etc. are using this format)

On sorting slides after filenames in alphabetic order:

If this is the PhotoDVD gui, then it won't be useful

I need a SW with timeline, so I can adjust each/all the photos to the mp3s, etc.

I'm trying now with Windows Movie Maker. Microsoft Photo Story discarded (can't adjust each photo's props., time, etc.)

What properties do you want to change? Time is under the Customize motion button. Whichever application you evaluate, you may want to try to look a little more in depth of it's capabilities before discarding. Failing that, have someone else do the project for you.

    You're right Safesurfer
I had to review the possible solutions quickly because I was short on time

Anyway, I've finally used Windows Movie Maker. It could handle the 239 photos, transitions, and bg music in a good way (not as I would have liked)

Now uploading final video, 42mb to youtube.

PS: Slideshow for youtube is paid, but IMHO was the best solution. But, I didn't choose it because my test couldn't be uploaded due an error. I don't know if they have fixed it, I tried a little old trial demo, etc.
I think they also should make an option to export video and save to disk

    Just my thoughts

Thanks 2 everyone for giving suggestions
