The post says PAL only, does this mean it will unlock the region 2 PAL format only, or that it only works for a region 2 player? Has anyone tried this yet?

I think you're going to have to ask the guy who submitted it what he means by that. I have seen hacks that can only be applied to DVD players sold outside of North America so it might possibly mean that it only applies to such players, which includes more than just region 2. I'd try sending him a private message and hope he responds.

That hack is awful! It requires the use of a specialized remote. You better be careful because if you have to enter that much crap into the player to get it to be region free, if you make even one mistake it could brick the player. I'd just buy an Oppo rather than deal with that to get your player region free.
