I have a DVD player that plays xvid/divx, so I was wondering how to convert HD mp4 and mov files into xvid with as little quality loss as possible. I tried using SUPER, but 1920x1080 wasn't listed as one of the possible resolutions.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

99.9% of standalone divx/xvid dvd players don't support resolutions above 720x480
If you still wanted to do the conversion in Divx, for example, you have to change the profile from home theatre to 1080HD or "unrestricted" instead of "home theater". You could use vdub and DivX to do this.
If you insist on using that dvd player, you would likely have to resize to 720x480 -
I forgot about that. It's not even connected by HDMI... Ah, well I can try on my bro's xbox360.
