    Two common causes, file issues or application issues.

    Simple fix, use a different application. If the same problem occurs with different applications, then you have a problem with the source file.

    I can burn the files with no problems in Nero - however when I use Windows DVD Maker it doesn't burn audio.
    However, the menu music plays absolutely fine.
    I totally agree with PC2K1, so many people seem to have the same issue but their doesn't appear to be a solution!

    But there are solutions indeed ---
    --- and any of them implies:

    1) you must not use Windows DVD Maker ;

    2) you must not use Nero.

    Why would you suggest not to use Nero El?
    Like I previously posted - Nero at least works.
    I agree with you that it seems rather pointless to use Windows DVD Maker, however you would think that with so many people with the same issue that Microsoft would at least look at correcting the problem.

  6. that's happened to me before, the problem for me was my C: was too full. You'll have to free up some space until the red bar (in the my computer window) is blue.

    For mine, it's always around 10% when it freezes then blue screen. Then, I'll use my son's PC and no problem. The 10% thing happens when I use Windows MovieMaker, Total Media Extreme and the Wondershare SlideShow. The problem is intermittent, though. BTW, I just reformatted and reinstalled the OS. It didn't solve the problem. I have given up searching for the cause of the problem.

    I can see many here do not like WMM but it suits me well. Very user-friendly and the quality of output is 'good enough' for me.
