Can anyone provide access info to make this unit Region free.
We have several UK region 2 discs and were promised they would be accessible. Alas. No go.
    Thanks for your help.

Before you waste time trying to hack it, can it output PAL and can your TV playback PAL ? If not, getting a region free hack won't help you much.

You can also make the discs region free by ripping them to your PC and burning them to a blank DVD -R. They will still be PAL, bat at least you can have a go at watching them while you wait for a hack to appear

    Hi Guns1Linger.
Thanks for your interest and help.
    Yes to both ??.
My old faithful Sony TV is Pal enabled and the DVP is NTSC/PAL capable.
    Hope you can help.
    cheers,

It's been a while since I've bought a new Philips DVD playerl, but every model I ever bought in the past (some for me, some for family) was able to change the video output between NTSC/PAL/ANY (or MULTI - I forgot which term Philips uses, but it means output=input and no conversion). So guns1inger's concern about PAL playback should be a non-issue with any Philips model.

As far as multi-region goes, our database contains no hack information for this model. While in the past just about everything Philips made could be made a multi-region player, Hollywood has apparently gotten to just about everybody in the DVD player manufacturing industry and made them stop making their players so "user friendly". There may not be a hack for this player.
