RM to RM software

Hi, is there any software encode or re-encode RM to RM?

I have a RM/RMVB stand alone player in my living room. I copy my RMVB (no problem playing in computer) to the player but I could only see video but no audio.. however.. I copy another movie in rmvb format but it didn't have any problem playing the rmvb file..

It might because my stand alone does not have the codec for the audio.. so I may need to re-encode..

any solution?? preferred RM to RM conversion.

The standalone might support cook audio (or RA, which is the "usual" audio

There are new versions like RA10 which is similar to AAC which it probably doesn't support

You can use Easy RealMedia Producer to convert (free). I don't think you can just swap the audio (i.e. you have to re-encode both video & audio), so there will be quality loss for both.

which can both demux and mux real files (you can combine video from one and audio from another if you wish)
you can probably get away with just recoding the audio

poisondeathray: I installed EAsy RealMedia Producer and found out there are many types of RA8.. which one should i use?? I have tried one but somehow it does not have audio too..


mgh: am I just need to demux and mux them? do I need another program to convert the audio before i mux them?? if there is another software needed, what software is that?

demux audio and video
play one of the files which plays perfectly on your standalone player in rm player and check details
encode audio as per that
mux new audio with video-burn to rw-check on your standalone player

mgh: not really quite get you. I understand I have to demux the audio and video.. and convert the audio to another code such as "cook" (i think) and mux the new audio with video so that I can play it perfectly.

mgh: the demuxed audio is "atrc" code (I use DTDrive to demux and it showed that). so I need to re-encode them to "cook" right?

I still couldn't find a conversion software to convert it.

Use mediainfo (view=>text) on a file that does work to determine what audio is compatible with your standalone player

The default preset 64kbps stereo music - RA8 is the standard cook audio compatible with virtually everything that supports Real Audio.

It might be that your player doesn't work or is broken, if the file works on the PC fine. I have a standalone unit that plays rmvb/rm as well, and it does work with RA8
