    hi

    i just went through the most poplular tutorials here and converted my HD DVD/Bluray library to avi (divx) and mp4 (h 264). I saved all of them on an external harddrive.
    As I want to have my favorite movies on my Macbook Pro, which in fact does not have a full HD resolution, I want to convert them to smaller Files.
    They should be as small as possible with the best quality on my macbook.
    Which container and which codec should I choose for this procedure?

    mp4 with h264 video and aac audio. Resize to 1280x720.

    hmm thanks so far, but if i make it 1280x720 and watch it fullscreen, i lose quality?
