  1. Hi

I have seen lots of threads and all of them seem to end in misery!!

I have a sont HD camcorder and have installed all the software, i also installed pinnacle 12 and prem cs4 (my software of choice)

I can watch the files in sony AVCHD player and edit them in pinnacle studio 12

BUT when i try to import the m2ts files into premiere i get "File format not supported"

Whats the best way around this, i dont want to have to convert before i import really!!!

    Many Thanks

    Chris

Your first mistake was buing an AVCHD camcorder.........now you'll have to deal with it. Lesson 1, always do your homework first.....................

You can try a trial version of Vegas 8, or frameserve via Avisynth and AVSPlugin for Premiere, or use DGAVCDec and convert to a lossless codec like Lagarith.

..........Sorry, you'll get no sympathy from me, I'm a tried a true HDV user all the way.
Never argue with an idiot.......he'll only bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I'm guessing there's something missing when you installed CS4. Maybe a checkbox to install additional support files?

  8. it may be the sony avdhd support was added in the dec08 update. see if you have updated pp cs4 to 4.0.1
