    Hi.
    Like the subject says.
I tried to make my dvd player "LG rh278hb" region free with this tutorial, the one with change op6 from af to 8f.
After I changed it and restarted the dvd I cant get any picture, i tried with both HDMI and Scart but the only thing i get is the text "No signal".
I even tried to reset it by holding down the power button on dvd for 5 second and unplug it for 5 sec, nothing helped.
Anyone out there who has a solution? Maybe there is some new firmware to download?

    Thx.

Return it or take it to a repair shop. There isn't anything you can do to fix it now.

Many of our members don't read the forums on weekends, so posting on Sunday isn't your best plan for immediate help. You can always try, but you see what happened.

I agree with Krispy Kritter. Take it back and definitely do NOT say that you were trying to make it region free when this happened. I'd advise saying that you don't know what happened but it simply stopped working. Manufacturers change hardware all the time in various players and such changes can break region free codes that worked in the past. The usual result is simply no change in the player, not the destruction of the player itself. If you have to get a new player, do NOT buy Samsung whatever you do. We get posts all the time here about how Samsung players can't be made region free now.

    Hi Ispep!

I made a search on the web and I found this configuration.

    OP1 da
    OP2 30
    OP3 60
    OP4 71
    OP5 4e
    OP6 af
    OP7 46
    OP8 12
    OP9 00
    OPA 00

And if you want it region free you should update OP6 from "af" to "8f".

Before you change anything back look so that the rest of the configuration are the same as I wrote just to make sure its the right one.
