my unit stopped responding, the display say "load", i've read that a firmware upgrade might be needed, can anyone tell me how to upgrade and hard reboot the unit? thanks in advance ....

About the only way to reset the unit is to simply unplug it for 30-60 minutes. If the player won't load/read a disc, then you won't be able to upgrade the firmware. In any case, a firmware upgrade shouldn't be the solution to an error code or hardware malfunction.
