    Hi all.

Interleaved MPEG-2 file, trying to save it as a x264 video file in an avi or mkv container. It will work with anything but if i try to use a deinterlacing filter it works fine but soon as i set cropping in the filter it tells me "source image format is not acceptable"

    any ideas?

After you crop the video, you must resize back to its original dimensions (Resize filter in VDub).

If you don't want it back to the original dimensions then at least crop it to a mod2, 4 or 16 boundary (which one depends on the codec). My guess is you have cropped to an odd number of pixels.
