New to Blu-Ray, need 101 tutorial....

Hi All,

I hope I am putting this in the right section, I film in HD on my HV30, edit in Sony Vegas Pro 8, an burn with dvd architect. I recently received a Blu-Ray burner (early Christmas present). I have 2 projects that were edited in HDV, just not rendered in HD. I have little idea what format+ quality to render to in order to burn to a BR disc and playback properly. I would also like to hear what media to stay away from, its expensive and no one wants to waste money at this level. Could you point me in the right direction to a tutorial, that would be helpful.

I also just discovered that there are no open source blu-ray media players. Why is that?
