Pioneer DV-C503 Stops Playing VCD's

Help...My new DV-C503 stops playing SVCD's and VCD's after about 3 seconds. Play just reports STOP as if I hit the stop button. Play's DVD's fine. Has anyone experianced this?

I have the same player and it plays everything without a hitch, have you tried cleaning it? is it all vcd's or just one or two, I know when I had this problem on my apex I had to replace the drive, I hope that isn't the problem, is the player old or new, has it worked in the past and now is messing up?

Not new but refurbished. Just bought off eBay. Looks like I got a lemon...just my luck. Anything I can do to fix?

Try cleaning it and if that doesn't work I would send it in for service, might just need an alignment, it is a great player when it woks...: (
