I have this Philips 3475 player that must have some finalizing issues with +R discs that will not play in +R capable DVD players. The firmware update from their website is older than the pack date of my player so they advised not to install it. They sent me a B stock as a replacement unit that does the same thing. Each player goes through the finalizing steps, so there must be some firmware issue, or something worse.
The recorded discs play in the originating DVD recorder and a Sony DVDR that I tried, but will not play in over 10 models of DVD players only that I have tried. I have tried 1 hour and 2 hour recording to see if that made any difference and it did not.
I am to call Philips again on Monday and get a new unit, but my confidence is low.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jim Tavegia
