Newbie Blu-ray to iPod conversion question

Hi all, new to the forum so please forgive me if this has been asked before. I did try and search for an answer, but found nothing that I could easily understand

I have a load of Blu-ray films, which I want to convert so my daughter can watch them on her iPod touch.

Can someone please give me a simple noddy guide as to how?

Thanks for that, will download and give it a try. Already have AnyDVD HD, but could not see a way of getting the ripped Blu-ray file into another file type?

OK, got Ripbot all downloaded, and started to convert the Blu-ray film to MP4. Only problem was it said it was going to take six hours, and that was only on the first pass! Have I done something wrong?

No conversion takes a long time. Is your intel a dual core or a quad core?

Also limit your conversion to the movie only and limit it to the main audio track and that should limit the extra unncessary conversion of extras like trailers and documentaries.

it seems a bit overkill to convert a 1080 blu-ray film for an iPod touch (resolution 480×320). wouldn't it be easier to go from a SD DVD as a source? soooo much less processing power and time req'd...

Ah, thought I was doing something wrong. I have a quad core 6600.

How do I tell which is the movie stream?

@niko - I haven't converted a bluray to know for sure. It is my understanding that it will be the m2ts file that is the largest in size.

Also I don't know how long it takes to convert bluray to mp4 or avi/divx.

One word of advice - limit any background applications while converting. Also probably good to pause any auto antivirus scans during the conversion as well (even a background scan will probably slow it down).
