  1. Before the NXE came out my xbox could see mpg, mpeg files on my PC but now it know longer can it still sees avi and wmv of couse.

    Anyone else notice this?

    Are you going through the video library tab?

    I popped in a mp4 video file after the update and it required me to download a patch (2.4mb) for reading unprotected AAC and mpeg4 video files.

    I'm not sure if you have downloaded this patch or not. I frankly don't know how you would go about doing it manually. I would check xbox.com for a tech support on it.

    Or there is always google for more info on media updates on the 360 (though I personally use yahoo first and then fall back on google if it takes me awhile).

  3. I took a .VOB file from a DVD renamed it to .mpg and the 360 would not see it. Before the NXE came out doing that would work i belive?

    Sorry I can't confirm that as I never tried it.

    I don't believe the 360 was that versatile. I know the ps3 can read vob files directly off disc. I think the 360 is much more strict on what it can do. Like you said it does wmv perfectly as that is the native Microsoft architecture.

    I can read renamed VOB to MPG files on my 360 without problems after NXE update. I use a Windows XP MCE Pc
