If it has a HDMI output and your HDTV has a HDMI input, it should work. You just need a cable. Your laptop should have a set up for the video card. You can set it as a second monitor.

Plug in the HDMI cable, turn on the TV and set it to HDMI input, then turn on the laptop. Go to the video card settings and you should see a second monitor display. You may need to try different resolutions, but not that hard to set up.

But I would recommend just picking up a cheap DVD player as it will be a lot easier. Some of the Philips players also play Divx videos, so they are fairly universal and fairly cheap. Walmart carries some for about $40US. A HDMI cable if it's fairly long may cost you half of that.

Hi, thaks for the posts, I like this forum

I bought a 6ft HDMI cable from ebay for $4.89.
One of my friends has bought a Samsung - Progressive-Scan DVD Player with HD Upconversion,Model: DVD-1080P8
He doesn't need it and wants to return it, he proposed me to buy it from him, he paid only $40 for it (black friday sale) and he asks me for the same price. It's brand new. The price is pretty good but I'm not sure about the DVD player, user ratings are not very well. How is this player in your idea?

    Thanks

Get the Philips and treat it nicely.

Never buy from friends and why would the two of you want to, he can take it back and get a refund, and the warranty may not apply.
