What is the best way to edit the mts files without having to convert them? The only editor that seems to support mts files is Vegas, and I'm not a big fan of it. I'd like to edit with premiere.

If anyone knows a decent way that they are editing mts files from a hard drive HD camcorder then making mpeg 2 dvd's, please let me know.

you might be able to change the extension to .m2ts
perhaps try the free trials of Videostudio, Moviestudio, and all the others

Premiere CS4 is supposed to handle AVCHD files natively.

soopafresh is correct, premiere pro cs4 has no problem with canon .mts files.
