  1. I have an mpg file of a TV show that's 5Gb. Is this the correct procedure to burn it to a dual layer DVD+R?

    1. Use ImgBurn to create ISO file
    2. Use ImgBurn to burn the ISO onto the disc

    I've never burned DVD9 before.

Yes it's OK. It's also possible to skip step #1 and use ImgBurn to burn the files directly without creating an ISO. However, you forgot this:

    0. Buy Verbatim DVD+R DL discs to use.

If you use any other type of DL disc, you are likely to have problems.

Finally, you do understand that steps only involve making a data disc and you are not making DVD format video by simply burning a 5 GB file to DL media, right? That may be exactly what you want to do, but I just want to be sure you understand that DVDs have to be authored before they are burned and you seem to be talking about simply burning a file to a data disc.

  3. jamn89,

Thank you for the quick response. Not only did you explain it but you did it in a very easy to understand manner. Greatly appreciated.

Step 0. was done, waiting for Newegg to deliver.

Plus I do understand about data vs DVD format disc. The mpg file is in HD so I didn't want to down-rez to DVD resolution. My intended audience will just watch it on their PC.
