    Is there such a thing as a DVD recorder with an HDMI input. I know some have HDMI outputs,like my Toshiba 400.

    I seriously doubt there will ever be one like that. HDCP is designed to prevent copying. That would not work.

    The blackmagic intesity capture card is about the only one out there with hdmi input. Check out the various threads about it on this website.

    And good luck.

    An alternative is to get the hauppauge hd pvr that records via component input.
