What's the difference between all of the Taiyo Yuden blank media?
For a simple burn from a home consumer, what's the best choice?
Verbatim is more simple to understand but I know Taiyo Yuden is better quality.

You can't get much more "plain" that the shiny silver tops. Been using them
for years with very few or no coasters.
Some Verbatim ones are Taiyo Yuden. I just don't like the hassle
of trying to read the fine print to figure out which ones are
Taiyo Yuden....so I just buy Taiyo Yuden and be done with it.

Some Panasonic discs are(or used to be) Taiyo Yuden....but I think
it was only the +R ones.

I do see the Taiyo Yuden HardCoat DVD-R, Scratch-Resistant
That looks like my best bet for what I'm trying to accomplish.

What type of discs are you looking for? +r/-r. Do you want to print on them? If so with a inkjet or laser printer? I always recommend verbatim dvds, used them for several years and never had a problem playing them on anything.

Also what's bulk for you? 25/50/100/1000?

I usually go with DVD-R media. I know Verbatim has Lightscribe. Does Taiyo Yuden have Lightscribe? I have a Lightscribe drive so that would be nice. I wasn't quite sure with the Taiyo terminology. I don't use a printer, so no Inkjet.

TY is apparently not interested in LightScribe and doesn't produce it, so Verbatim would probably be the one to try.

I bought some cheap deals from fry's $14 for pack of 100 turned out to be TY. I bought other one's too they all burned well but the cover (top) is the ugly CG

Shiny silver TY discs are fingerprint magnets. I don't suggest them for that reason.
