I have an h264 movie (in a MP4 container) that I would like to convert to AVI (XviD preferably). I have tried All2AVI and Total Video Converter but they did not work. Any suggestions?

Here are the specs of the source file (straight from 'Codec Details' in VLC Media Player:
    Video Codec: avc1
    Resolution: 1280x528
    Frame Rate: 23.976023
    Audio Codec: mp4a
    Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
    Bitrate: 1536 kb/s

    Thanks,
    m93

    Use Xvid4psp or avidemux.

I have tried both of those and AVIdemux does the best job but the sound is out of sync when I play it back. Any reason why this might happen?

Maybe Variable FrameRate in the mp4...you can then try Variable Framerate Rx. It uses avidemux.

How exactly do I use Variable Framerate Rx? Do I copy the AVISynth script from AVIdemux to Variable Framerate Rx?
