    Bought a new DVR-116, it cannot recognize any blank CD and DVD-R, it only work as DVD-Rom, not writer! I also have updated firmware, but, still does not work. Help please.

    Make sure you are using a 80 conductor IDE cable. (Same as a hard drive cable) A 40 conductor cable will cause problems with most newer drives. And make sure your jumper settings are correct, Slave or Master.
