    hey guys i really need to know if i coudl use a Blu-ray reader to rip by blu-rays or do i have to buy a writer all i want to do id rip them to my computer and then have back-ups ?

    Reader is fine for first part, but do not know how you want to do backup without writer.

    but i can rip them to my computer right ? thats all i really want to to then i;m takign them to my PS3

    Yes they can be ripped with a reader. As long as use anydvd hd.

    Think of it just like dvds. You can rip with a dvdrom you just can't burn with a dvdrom.

    It's the same with bluray. You can rip with a bdrom you just can't burn with a bdrom.

    There are multiple ps3 streaming posts on this forum. You should be able to find what you need once you get your m2ts files.
