hi, when im online using my wireless router the connection terminates itself sometimes and doesnt reconnect. When I search for networks my router comes up with a full signal and when I click connect it shows "windows cannot connect", I then click diagnose the problem then just get the 2 options... "information on troubleshooting low wireless signal quality problems" or "view available networks".

    It doesnt help at all

I usually get around this by shutting down and wait till the next day and it works but I cant keep doing that.

    any ideas?

heres info in event viewer if anyone understands it.

Try changing your wireless channel in the router. You may be getting interference from a nearby router on the same channel. There should be about 11 channels available. Your PC will adjust to the change automatically. I have to do this at times with my wireless router when new people move into the neighborhood.

I'm also assuming you have good signal strength.

You might also check 'Connect even if network is not broadcasting: No' and change that to yes. That sometimes helps. That setting is in your 'Wireless Properties'. I also check 'Connect automatically when this network is in range'.

I've also just rebooted my laptop and it seems fix the signal loss problem for a while.

I unplugged the ethernet cable, tried to connect to see if it was fixed but it wasnt.

I then changed the channel from 11 to 3 and unplugged the ethernet cable and the wi-fi connected straight away so thanks

btw me changing the channel isnt gonna affect or change anything is it?

Changing the channel has never seemed to have any effects on the PC end. That's now the first thing I try if a PC reboot doesn't clear it up. Sometimes routers are set by default on certain channels and if your neighbor happened to have the same brand, interference can happen. It could also be some other kind of RF interference. But changing the channel is easy enough to try.
