    Hey!
I use Sony Vegas and when I render the movie file it just goes black! I've tried DivX to render it and anything... Is it the codec or maybe it's because I recorded with Xfire? Plzz help me!

DV AVI is the format Vegas works with best, so always try that first if something goes wrong.

Can you see the footage on the timeline ?

Does the timeline play back in the preview window ?

Have you applied any filters or effects ?

The problem can be solved by right clicking on each video track, selecting "Properties" and then selecting "Disable Resample"

  16. I know this is an old thread but since google sent me here I'm going to post my solution.

I went into properties and unchecked an option that closed media files when not the focus application.
Apparently, if u alt+tab while rendering, or simply switch to another application, then the media file will be closed and black spot will be rendered.
    So uncheck that

start your own new thread and include all the info you have. start with a mediainfo text output of the source, your project properties settings, a sample of the source video, your render to settings, and a sample of the output file.

Ancient thread but that's how hard I was searching for an answer for this,

My Answer that got the video to work (Was tinkering around and stumbled upon this setting and how to use it (still working on audio))

    **Uncheck Render Looped Region Only**

Otherwise, Adjust your loop to include your whole project,

My project was very short and was before the loop began which was my issue,

Now I am trying to get the sound to work -_-' Signed up for this post lol
