    Hi
I wonder if it is possible to 'export' some transition animations from a commercial DVD to a personal project.
I don't mean animated menus: my menus are just images lodaded as background, I don't want to 'animate' them.
But I'd like to insert a transition between two of them, precisely a short transitition clip which is in a commercial version of the same film (I've screencaptured the menus -as images- from its DVD and edited them with photoshop).

    Is it possible?
    How?

You cannot do this with Photoshop. If you want to make your own transitions you will have to do it in something like a Premiere and import to Lab.
If you want to use it from commercial DVD, they are usualy in separate PGC, so you can demux it using PgcDemux (free) and import to DVD lab.
Lab has also its own transitions from one menu to other.

I never meant to do the transitions with Photoshop, I've just used it to edit (that is change the German writings into Italian ones ) the images taken from the original DVD. But this isn't important now!

I just have menu 1 and menu 2 (with their respective buttons, backgrounds, ecc.), and I'd like to 'insert' between them a transition taken from the original DVD.
The playback will be this way:
    - I'm in the menu 1, I click on the link button to the menu 2
    - it starts a short clip (which 'seems' the menu animating)
    - I'm in the menu 2!

If you want to use it from commercial DVD, they are usualy in separate PGC, so you can demux it using PgcDemux (free) and import to DVD lab
That seems exactly what I mean to do
Can you explain (or link me a guide) how to use PGCDemux for this purpose?

Lab has also its own transitions from one menu to other
    I know but I don't like them :P

    PgcDemux is a simple software.

    Highlight PGC
    Highlight Menu
check all boxes on left side (self explanatory)
Load your IFO file (usualy Video_TS. IFO)
In window you will see all PGC with running time, one of them will be your transition. Highlight one you want.

I usualy use PgcEdit or VobBlanker to see which one it is for running time of the video. You can see your menu there. Both are free.

    set output folder and Process

Once done input video and audio(if any) to assets.
Create empty Menu and input to it
Set your button to link to that menu and from there End Link to where you want to go.

    Thanks a lot!
    I demuxed the m2v (and ac3) I need.
I made a new empty menu but I can't go ahead.

I drag&dropped the m2v file from Assets to this menu, but:

    1) the menu turns black & white
    2) I don't know how to link it between menu 1 and 2

You can see .m2v file in preview window of DVD lab, if it is one you want.
Once you import m2v file in menu, you will see two new lines under it. One say Motion, other Audio.

I assume Menu1 is a menu with buttons. Menu2 is your imported transition.
In that case make button to link to menu2, than end link of Menu2 to where it supposed to go. Either to other menu or movie?
If the transition is for Movie, than once you click the button it will go to transition menu and after that one is played to the end it will go to Movie.
If you end link to other menu, than process is the same except it will end up in menu instead of a movie.

    No.
Well, Menu 1 is the Main Menu, while Menu 2 is Option Menu (audio/subs).
I want to make a transition between them, using the m2v clip.

    How?

(in your example, I can link FROM Menu 1 to the 'transition menu', but how do I 'end link' ? I don't know how)

There is a white dot on right side of menu.
Click on link Icon (right side, x and slanted line). Click on the dot and drag the arrow to next menu.
