blu-ray picture skips in extras

i have a pioneer bdc 202 bd rom that plays movies brilliantly but i have noticed that in the last few movies namely iron man and indy that the extras pictures skips but sound okay its like the frames jump to catch up anyone have any ideas. movie plays fine though.older movies and extras play ok.

You might have to upgrade your software player. Are you using PowerDVD 7?

using powerdvd8 did have 7 but upgraded incase that was the problem but no luck.still doesnt make sense why movie plays alright but extras are no good. have tried discs in a standalone player and they play everything ok.

You should fill out your computer specs so we know what power you have available.

Dual core cpus are more suited for bluray than single core. I use powerdvd 7 for bluray with no issues that I can tell - though I do use my ps3 for bluray more often then the pc.

You also don't have a video card listed. A newer video card would also help. At the very least a driver upgrade can often smooth out perfomance issues.

One last thing - be sure to limit background applications. When playing high def video its very resource demanding. So closing things like a virus scanner or other program should also increase performance.

Oh and also newer video cards are supposed take on some processing of high def video and reduce the load on the cpu. Not sure which ones but they are improving the efficiency of playing high def on a pc.
