    i have a lite-on shw-160p6s dvd writer instaled on my pc and put a region 1 disc into it and recieved this message.
    can anyone tell me if it is possible to get past this and make it permanantly region free.

    Or use a player that ignores region codes. MPC, MPCHC, VLC, KMPlayer...
