I'm planning on going to a pentium 9550 quad core from an amd 9850,what kind of speed increase will i see when i encode say a 640x352 divx file with ccce sp2,my 9850 does an average of about 6x up to 7x and 4x on 720x480 on 4:3 divx avi.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Not to sound rude but why don't you tell us after you get a chance to test it ... I'm curious since I'm thinking of building a new computer and wanting to use either the AMD 780G motherboard or the AMD 790GX motherboard which means I'm stuck with the AMD 9950 CPU (which I imagine is not that much faster than the AMD 9850 CPU you have or had).
Not crazy about using a AMD CPU but damn those AMD motherboards seem so nice and cheap for all you get!
