Hey,
I would like to convert my 1080i TS file to a 720p X264 MKV using XviD4PSP, and I keep getting the error:
"can't open stats file"
I have no idea why this is happening. I have encoded a couple test clips I extracted from the same video file and they encode fine, but when I attempt to encode the whole file I always get this error.
I am encoding it with 2 passes, 6500kb/s x264, audio set to copy, resize to 1280x720, progressive, and the color correction default "MPEG2fix." These are the exact settings I encoded the test clips with.
Computer specs:
Intel P4 3.2GHZ, WinXP MCE, 1GB Ram, nVidia 7600 GS
Any ideas??
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

"can't open stats file" is usally a problem when converting the second pass.
Does it stop when starting the second pass or directly when you convert?
Are you converting the test clips using 2-pass also? -
Yes I forgot to mention, the error comes up right when the second pass starts, the first pass encodes fine.
The test clips are encoded with 2-pass as well.
For one test clip, I frameserved the TS into VitualDub and extracted a clip as encoded in HUFFYUV format and opened that in XviD4PSP.
I also tried a test clip I extracted a clip using MPG2CUT2, keeping the TS format.
Both clips encoded fine with 2 passes ... I don't get it.
