    I am having the same exact problem as this guy :

    except my .mp4 is coming from a wireless linksys camera.

    The VLC version i have is 0.8.6i

    in that thread i tried what this guy did:

    "I went back to VLC 0.8.2.0, the video is recognized as 640*480 and VLC works fine."

    and that did work for me but, is there any other way besides using an old version of VLC or editing the video directly like in the last post of that thread

  2. I found the same as VLC_help in the linked thread: the video is 640x480 but the MP4 header says it's 320x240. remuxing with YAMB fixed the problem. I was also able to patch the header with a hex editor (changing it to read 640x480 instead of 320x240) to fix the file.
