Firmware update for Plextor drive

I use a TSST/Samsung and a plextor PX-755A burner, and TYG02 discs. Recently, If I burn on the Samsung from the Plextor, the burn is fine, If I burn on the Plextor from the Samsung I get a 'burn failed-power calibration error'. I am thinking that this may be a firmware issue, and the firmware on the Plextor is V1.01. I see on the Plextor firmware site that there is a version 1.08. Is this thinking/issue correct that it may be the firmware issue ?, AND, as i have never done a firmware update before, How do I do it ? what do I do with the selfextracting file V1.08 to update ? thanks.

Are you sure its a selfextracting. If you run it, it asks if you are you want to install the firmware upgrade. I would think if you check yes, it would install it.
