I have a 45 second interview with a bit of wind noise in the back ground. I have converted the audion from the video to a wav or mp3 and I have tried using audacity but have had no luck. I have not had to mess with the audio before so this is new to me.
I cannot re do the interview as it was taken on my vacation overseas.
    I appreciate any info.
    thanks
    I have loaded the file.

It doesn't sound that bad to begin with. You can't remove the wind sound, but you can make it less noticeable.

    1) Fade in the first 3 seconds and fade out the last 2 seconds.

    2) Cut the bass frequencies below 90hz.

    3) Add some dynamic range compression or limiting so the wind is never louder than the voice.

Here are the frequencies removed by the above process. You'll notice a lot of rumble caused by the wind.

  3. soundforge - noise reduction plugin works fairly well.
